High-Resolution Imaging. Noninvasive. Radiation-Free.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is one of the most advanced diagnostic tools in modern medicine. At Tower Imaging Medical Group, we offer safe, painless, and highly detailed MRI scans across 9 convenient locations in Southern California. Our MRI services provide exceptional anatomic detail—often eliminating the need for additional testing.
What is an MRI Scan?
MRI uses a strong magnetic field, radiofrequency waves, and powerful computer systems to generate precise images of the body—without using any radiation. This allows our board-certified radiologists to evaluate areas such as the brain, spine, joints, muscles, and internal organs with outstanding clarity.
Common MRI Applications
- Brain and spinal cord imaging
- Joint and musculoskeletal evaluations
- Abdominal and pelvic assessments
- Vascular and cardiac MRI
- Breast MRI for cancer detection and staging
- Functional MRI (fMRI) and CSF flow studies
Advanced MRI Technology
We combine state-of-the-art imaging systems with subspecialty expertise to offer:
- Silent MRI scanning for reduced noise and increased comfort
- Non-contrast MR angiography for patients with kidney conditions
- Metal artifact suppression for imaging around orthopedic hardware
- Functional brain imaging (fMRI) for advanced neurological insight
- Enterography and MRCP for detailed gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary evaluation
- Audio and video systems for a more relaxed patient experience
What to Expect During Your MRI
Before your MRI exam, please inform us if you have a pacemaker, artificial heart valve, or any metal implants. These may interfere with the magnetic field.
Wear loose-fitting clothing without zippers or metal fasteners. In some cases, you may be asked to wear a gown. During the procedure, you’ll lie on a padded table that slides into the MRI scanner. The technologist will monitor your exam and stay in constant communication through an intercom system.
For certain exams, a contrast agent may be used to enhance image detail—especially for vascular studies. This process is known as Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA).
The exam typically lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.
After Your MRI Exam
One of our experienced radiologists will interpret your MRI and send a detailed report to your referring physician. Your doctor will then follow up with you to review the results and discuss any next steps.
